TREES ARE TREASURED IN HIGHLAND PARK

As you may have heard, there has been some tree removal and lopping off of trees on private property in Highland Park.

The lopping off of the trees on the bluff by Park Ave. beach will be the subject of an administrative law hearing on August 2, 2012 at City Hall.

Our ordinance provides for $1,000 per tree fines plus the completion of a remediation plan to replace the trees with new trees. This is crucial for maintaining the stability of the bluff and preserving our City’s tree stock.
